So it's Monday. I'm back from Daisho Con '09 in Stevens Point.
And I definitely have PCS (Post-Con Syndrome) because I really blew my whole experience.
I'd been working on Amaterasu (from Okami) all the way up until Thursday night/Friday morning. I seriously worked my ASS off. Got my wig all ready to be worn. Got everything as ready as I could.
Friday was okay, wore my kimono for a short while but the obi was just Killing my back. I had to remove it for the day. Which was fine--It was only Friday, I thought.
Saturday rolled around, and I just don't know what happened. I had no one really there to help me with my wig so it took me forever to get it ready, get it on my head and somewhat manageable without freaking out that it (may have) looked bad. So of course after 6 floors, many hallways and a few comments and pictures later, I realize I forgot my badge into the convention.
So lucky me, I got to do it all over again. I go back, grab my badge, reattach my wig, fix it a little and go back down once again.
The entire time the wig was just squeezing my head slowly but surely, and I had no bobby pins or wig pins at all to keep everything in place, so it slooooowly slid back on my head, hurting it even more. I talked to a few people, walked around a few places, got my picture a couple times, sat down and finally had to just take it off.
Only one person realized I was from Okami that I had not told ahead of time. I was told by another friend who knew I was Ammy that I should've maybe had dog ears so people could make the connection. I didn't want to agree because I wanted my cosplay original but I did have to agree--no one was really getting it, and for someone like me that really put me in a downer mood.
Unfortunately, I was not feeling my Ammy cosplay like I had maybe hoped I would. It was time to remove it.
A little snack, a short nap and a small piece of the swimsuit contest later, I found myself playing in the game room before dinner-time. After dinner, I got back and made it only to view perhaps half of the cosplay contest, which I had not entered in.
I really wish I had, even if no one knew me before...the MC would have told them, and SO many more people would've been able to appreciate the costume for what it was meant to be. Sadly, I didn't enter, so I was left with a rather empty feeling inside...
I'm sorry Daisho, your sticky floors and odd smells this year really didn't impress me. You've improved from 2008, and I hope many others had more fun than I did in the Con, but I can't say I had that great of a time.
Damn.

It's fine, I wasn't all that peachy this year. I got a corner spot, meaning half the time I sat on HOT ASS-FAULT. Er, asphalt. :3 Not enough grass.
These two boys (about 6yrs old both) were drawing 3x3 squares with the help of their clearly artistic parents and family. It upset me so much that people walked by going, "Oh wow! A 6-yr-old drew that?!" No! A 6-yr-old thought of it, and had half his family do it for him! But I couldn't say anything.
So anyway, I wasn't all that happy with what I drew, either. Next year I'll be sure to throw in some realism, considering NO ONE pays attention to anime at an event like that.

Please, Check out my gallery: [link]
I Can color it, if you still want me to, but it won't be as quick as the sketch was. I seem to be getting busier by the day.
